OUR MISSION
Focused on Your Growth and Your Child's Journey

MEET YEMISI
Hi, I’m Yemisi Agbebi (pronounced Ye-me-sea), born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa, where my love for storytelling took root early. My late father wasn’t a writer, but he was my first literary champion—filling our home with books and introducing me to Time magazine, National Geographic, and worlds far beyond our doorstep.
I was traveling through pages long before I ever boarded a plane. He even offered to fund my first novel when I was in elementary school! That manuscript may be lost, but the dream it sparked lives on. I’ve been writing ever since—stories filled with culture, family, and connection, all with the hope that children will see themselves, celebrate who they are, and learn about others with empathy and respect.
MY JOURNEY
My journey as an educator began in Nigeria, teaching third grade, even though my parents hoped I’d become a doctor or lawyer. Teaching became my way of sharing stories and helping children believe in their own possibilities.
Over two decades ago, I moved to the Navajo Nation, where I was embraced by a community that deepened my understanding of culturally relevant education. My Navajo students were curious about my African heritage, and their questions sparked beautiful conversations about identity and belonging.

WHY I WRITE
Those moments reminded me why I write: to build bridges between cultures and help children know their stories matter. I’m the author of Mrs. Abeebe’s Culture Academy and its companion coloring book, and a co-author in a women’s book series about overcoming life’s challenges.
Whether I’m teaching or writing, my mission is the same—to inspire children to love themselves, embrace their identity, and discover the joy of learning through stories that reflect their lives.
